TWO CONFERENCES, ONE RETREAT
The evening of August 22 marked the beginning of a historic event held at Pipestem Resort. Laity from both the Holston Conference and the West Virginia Conference converged on the West Virginia State Park to begin a combined Laity Retreat led by
Bishop Debra Wallace-Padgett. The theme of the retreat was Faith Sharing. To find out more about the Laity Retreat, see page one of the newsletter.

As we walk forward together in faith, the words from Hebrews remind us of our calling: to love, to serve, to show compassion, and to stay grounded in God’s promises. RELOCATION COMPLETE
The relocation of the Southern District office to Beckley Community has necessitated some updates to our technology. Specifically, adding Ethernet cabling to Chip and Lisa’s offices to allow them to use an internet phone system. Read about the challenges of installing Ethernet cable in the newsletter.
