PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS 2025 UPDATE

Ryan Snuffer, Executive Director of Hope in the Mountains, led the Pathways to Success program for 10 young men from Independence Middle and High Schools. During the 4-week program, Ryan provided devotions, life skills training, and took the young men to the Beckley Police Department and area businesses such as Alpha Resources, Technifab, and Pioneer Bank to learn about possible career pathways. They built raised beds at the Hope Center and planted vegetables.  To read more about the new Pathways to Success Program, read this month's newsletter!

PRAYING PELICANS PROVIDE NEEDED HELP

Mabscott UMC and the community received a most generous gift, as the Praying Pelicans mission team from Journey Church in Anderson, IN, worked for four days, the last week in June, to transform the Mabscott parsonage to rent to a family. In excessive heat, they painted, scrubbed, tiled, rewired, repaired, and blessed us in many ways.  To see photos of the Praying Pelicans working their magic,  open the newsletter link below.

2025 DAYSPRING HOPE CAMP

Staff and volunteers of Hope in the Mountains hosted 16 children at our DaySpring Hope Camp on June 16 through June 19. Campers heard a Bible story and devotion from Pastor David on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings and from Pastor Don on Tuesday morning. They also heard follow-up Bible stories and worked on crafts in the afternoons.  To read more about the activities at DaySpring Camp and see the campers in action, follow the link below to the newsletter.
